How I Set Up Legal Pages for My Blog (And Why You Should Too)

Feeling Confused About Legal Pages for Your Blog?

When I first launched my blog, I wasn’t sure if I really needed a Privacy Policy or a Disclaimer. But once I added Google Analytics and planned to use AdSense and Amazon Affiliate, I realized… I absolutely did.

🛡️ Why Legal Pages Matter (Even If You're Just Starting)

  • Privacy Policy: Required if you collect any user data (like with Google Analytics or comments).
  • Disclaimer: Protects you from liability if your advice doesn’t work out for someone.
  • Terms and Conditions: Defines rules for how users interact with your site and content.

Bottom line? These pages help build trust and protect you legally.

⚙️ How I Set It Up (Using Blogger)

  1. I created three pages inside Blogger:
  2. I went to Layout → Sidebar (Bottom) → Add a Gadget and chose “Link List”.
  3. Then I added each legal page link under a section titled: Legal / Information.
  4. Finally, I clicked Save and checked the footer. All links showed up perfectly!

✅ Mission accomplished. And it looked clean too. Just like this:

🔍 Extra Tip: Want to Go Further?

  • Add a cookie consent banner if you have visitors from the EU.
  • Place a short notice like “This site may contain affiliate links” in your footer for transparency.

📝 Final Thoughts

This might feel like a small step, but it makes your blog look professional, safe, and ready to grow. Whether you're applying for AdSense or just starting out, it's worth taking 30 minutes to set it all up.
